Unity

WHAT'S HAPPENED TO UNITY?

After a successful summer in 2002, the Unity team felt that having a Unity main event once a month was too much. Why? Our desire is that the Unity events are something special for the youth of Cornwall and as i'm sure many of you know Cornwall is an extremely difficult place to resource an event like this. But why should Cornwall miss out?!

After meeting and praying together the Unity team feel that Unity is more than an event. We believe that Unity is a Spirit led movement of young people and youth workers with a heart to see Cornwall set on fire for Christ!

It's awesome to see that so many of Cornwall's youth workers want to encourage and inspire their youth by putting on monthly events. But how good would it be if we all new that once a month up to and even more than 200 of Cornwall's youth would be getting together to worship their maker in a radical and relevant way.

How?

If you are not part of the Unity team, you need to be. God is calling us to unite and to work together to see His Kingdom come in this generation.

If you have a event planned in 2003 and would like to see it jammed with young people. How about having it supported by Unity. Our desire is that through Unity we can communicate to the youth of Cornwall that your event is the one we'll all be going to.

May Unity in St.Austell

It was a great night attended by about 60 young people. The focus of the evening was unity, and being part of the body of Christ. We had various different challenges set up around the room, if your team completed the challenge you were given a body part (we pulled a load of Miguel's Cindy dolls apart, sorry mate!). After the challenges the teams gafa taped their dolls back together. the winning team was the team with a complete doll. As most teams had complete dolls we had to find a winner by adding futher challenges, including shaking the dolls to see who's held together and finally who could throw their doll the furthest. There were arms and legs everywhere it was carnage.

4th July Unity in Camelford

We're taking Unity to the Cleas Hall in Camelford for an American 4th July Special. With guest speaker, Pat Furtaw, all the way from Texas in the U.S.A. He's got a n amazing story. Also full-on contemporary worship, D.J. and a game show. There might even be  little bit of cheese thrown in for free. We will be taking an offereing towards Unity.

What is Unity?

Unity, the new joint venture between St Austell's BassLine and Newquay's H20. This new event, born out of a desire to see larger, better quality events that would attract more young people and make a lasting impact, was the brainchild of Kris Lannen of the Newquay Christian Centre and Miguel Fernandez of St Austell Bay Community Church.

It says in the bible that where there is Unity God commands a blessing. That verse is what this whole event is based on and God has continued to bless us as we have been faithful to him in organising this event.
