jcb @ Grace

JCB has started the New Year with a bang! Read on to find out what we have been doing and what's planned for the next couple of months...JCB have had a busy Christmas. We had our own Christmas Praise Evening where we sang carols by candlelight, shared what Christmas meant to us and took communion together. We then joined the older youth group for the Youth Group Christmas Meal at Spices Restaurant in Liskeard. That was a fun evening of great food and Mark Davy's amazing Awards Ceremony! Some of us saw in the New Year at the Church Party playing Phil's silly games, again eating lots of food and joining in the Watchnight Service and taking Communion with the rest of church as midnight tolled. The first Saturday of the New Year saw us join up with the Jellybeans group led by Nic Peck from St Martin's Church in Liskeard to go to Plymouth Pavilions. We had a session ice skating which was great fun. Some of us were rather nervous at first but we soon got the hang of it with Nic's expert help and coaching. Then we spent an hour and half in the fun pool enjoying the flumes and the floats and trying to drown the leaders!!! All the photos on this page were taken while we were on the rink (except the one that was taken outside which was obviously taken outside!)
Then we had tea at Macdonalds before going to Crossways at Whitleigh Chapel. Crossways is a youth event supported by a number of churchesin Plymouth and around. After a time of worship Phil spoke on God, the Internet and the Mobile Phone.
On a Thursday night we have started a series of studies on "Relationships". We will cover getting on with our mates, relationships with the opposite sex, being happy with who you are, relationships with parents, brothers and sisters and those awful people in school called teachers. This is a series we have requested and we are excited at learning what the Bible has to say and what God will do to our relationships as we seek to apply it to our lives. We are also looking forward to our Saturday Social Squash when we will try and see how many can fit in the front room of Phil's little cottage! We are also planning a camping weekend at the Cornwall Bush Conference. Some of us will be going to CCYC and some of us have already booked for Soul Survivor C. You may also bump into us at various events around the county like Unity or EPIC when we take our leaders out for a night - poor Bryony, Anna and Phil & co don't get out much!!

What is JCB?JCB is the youth group for 11 to 14 year olds at Grace Community Church at Morval near Looe. We meet on a Sunday morning during part of the main church service (which is from 10am to 11:30am), and on a Thursday evening from 7:30pm to 9:00pm. (This is at the same time as the prayer meeting so parents have somewhere to go while we are JCB-ing!) We are always open to having new members join us.
