Praying for Cornwall...
In 1934 a group of men took a day off work
in the United States. This was an indication that they meant business. It meant they lost one-sixth of a week’s wages. They prayed during that day in the North Carolina town of Charlotte for spiritual revival in their city.
As so often happens when we pray in earnest, God
extended their vision.
They found themselves praying not just for Charlotte but for the whole of the State of North Carolina, and then for the whole of America. When God took them to that place in prayer they began to pray, “God, do something in this city that will touch the entire world.”
God answered their prayer
but they did not realise it for many years. Nothing appeared to happen, except later that year the sixteen-year-old son of one of these praying men was converted. The son’s name was Billy Graham.
Dr Graham has touched the world.
He has had the privilege of preaching to more people about Christ than any one man who has yet lived. Only eternity will reveal what happened as a result of that group of men taking a day off work to pray in 1934.
As we set aside time to pray in Cornwall and for Cornwall
could we see God light a fire that will spread through the South-West; through England; through the United Kingdom; to the world?
