Missonary Required - Enquire Within

Exodus 4v13 - But Moses said, “O Lord, please send someone else to do it”

So, here we have it, God appears to Moses, the great leader of Israel, tells him to go deliver his people out of Egypt. He gives him a bunch of amazing miracles to prove that God has sent him, and the promise of all the power he needs to do the job.

And what is the response of this great man? “NOT ME! SEND SOMEONE ELSE - ANYONE ELSE” Does that sound familiar? Have you ever felt like that - I have. Moses didn’t think he was a great man, he really thought that he was the worst guy for the job, and besides, he was a coward - great men and women of God aren’t cowards!

Or are they?

The amazing thing about God, is that He is so big and powerful, that he can use anyone He wants to get the job done, because He is the one who is going to make it all possible. That means even you and me.

All He asks is two things:
1) That we realise that we are weak - then we don’t try to nick the credit when GOD does something that happens to involve us.
2) That we are prepared to let him use us, and to trust & obey Him

Perhaps you never thought of yourself as a world-changer, perhaps you don’t think you could ever do anything for God.

You’re right!

BUT He can do something truly amazing through you if you are prepared to just step aside and allow God the chance to do things His way.

Moses didn;t send the plagues on Egypt - God did
Moses didn’t part the Red Sea - God did
Moses didn’t give them manna in the desert - God did
Moses didn’t bring water out of the rock - God did

I have a friend who just came back from helping at an orphanage in China for a few weeks - a real missionary - she’s just 11.

What can God do with you, and are you prepared to let him?
